Welcome aboard Revinsight, the podcast that helps you understand how organizations and individuals adopt, utilize, and track VR results.
Maxime Ros: Today, I’m honored to receive Lorenz Neuwirth. Lorenz is Associate Professor of Biopsychology at SUNY College at Old Westbury and SUNY Neuroscience Research Institute in New York.
Hey, Lorenz, where do you see organizations getting the most value out of deploying VR?
Lorenz S. Neuwirth: So I think there’s a great opportunity here in the market for not just the in-person learning, but also the online or hybrid spaces between the changes in the environmental climate of education post-COVID and continuing thereafter.
What we see is that the more these hands-on opportunities we could bring into the curriculum, embedded in the curriculum, even extracurricular as it might be, can really bring some rich research backgrounds into the actual conversation of the dialogue we’re having in lecture to really supplement and in that moment, really get students to be hands-on with something they probably would never even be able to touch in that space or time, especially if we’re in a virtual online class.
So it’s almost as though one of the greatest returns on investment that educators can get out of these products with these institutions of higher learning is bringing the actual content to the learner wherever they may be, or even if they’re on the same campus, still bringing that content to the learner in a way that is very different than traditional or post-traditional learning.
